Now Microsoft says it was hacked

After micro-blog Twitter, social network Facebook, Apple Inc., it was the turn of software giant Microsoft to say it, too, was made the target of hacking attempts. This looks like thehandiwork of the same gang that went after the other Big 3, but investigation is still on at Microsoft. No customer data was hijacked, the compay asserted.

Apple Inc., was attacked by the same group of hackers as the one that tried getting into Facebook recently. There’s a theory going around Online that hundreds of companies, including US defense contractors, had been infected with the same malicious software. The finger of suspicion points to a certain ‘red’ country.

Last summer, Microsoft released a preview of Outlook.com, a modern email service. Since then, Outlook has been adopted by 60 million people, claims the software company. Microsoft has now decided to replace the Hotmail brand with Outlook.com. The latter is now out of its preview state, & within a few months, Hotmail will be no more.
