Hightail allows sharing of large files plus storage in Cloud

It is not possible to send large files as attachments on popular email services like Gmail & Yahoo Mail as they have a limit on the size of the file. Hightail (formerly YouSendIt) steps in to help users who regularly need to send huge files to others, that too in an encrypted form.

All you need to do is create an account, then upload the large file to Hightail’s servers & send the generated link to the recipient of the file. Hightail confirms the delivery by email, & you can get data on details such as the time when the file is accessed, the number of times it is downloaded & its date of expiry. Thus, this mobile app offers much more than a simple bounce-back notifying email for users. Users can even sign documents digitally.

The other feature of this service is that it provides Cloud storage facility. The stored files can be made available for other people to access. All these features are offered free if you sign up for Hightail’s basic plan.

E-Signatures
This option allows you to scribble your signature, select the desired font for it & enlarge its size as required. You can then save the e-signature & use it any time later. Hightail also allows you to use a stylus to insert your signature. The e-signatures facility saves you the trouble of scanning a signed paper document & sending it to the recipient.

Pricing
The basic plan is free & offers sharing of files up to 250MB, five e-signatures & a storage limit of 2GB. There are also paid plans for professionals, teams & enterprises.

Hightail, as known as YouSendIt, was founded in 2004 & is based in San Francisco, USA. The company claims it has more than 40 million subscribers including 98% of Fortune 500 companies.
