Social network Facebook continues to be No:1 spot, women likely to use Pinterest than men

A survey by analytical firm Pew Internet has shown that social network Facebook continues to be the No: 1 site in the US with 67 percent of Internet users logging in.

The research firm also said that for the first time, it had compared social media usage between whites, blacks and Latinos. The survey also found women were likely to hang out at Pinterest five times more than men.

The greatest percentage of Facebook & Twitter users are in the 18-29 age bracket

Pinterest, which is popular among people younger than 50 and those with some college education and a higher income, continues to see mostly women using the photo pinning site.

Tumblr is significantly less popular among Internet users than the other social networking sites featured in the report. Just 6 percent of those online use the site.

Significantly, Pew has left out another Social Network from this survey, Google+.
