Facebook and Microsoft launch the Internet Bug Bounty program

Two IT/Internet world giants have joined together to make the Web a safer place. Social network Facebook & Microsoft have joined hands to launch a Bug Bounty program. Under it, any white hat hacker exposing a vulnerability stands to earn a minimum of US $5000.

Here’s what they write: We have selected some of the most important software that supports the Internet stack, & they want you to hack it. If the public is demonstrably safer as a result of your contribution to Internet security, we’d like to be the first to recognize your work and say “thanks” by sending some cash to you or your favorite non-profit.
