App launcher Lucid Launcher packs a punch

There are many launchers up for grabs on Google Play. For the layman, an app launcher is essentially a replacement homescreen for the factory user interface, offering added customization options. It is normally recommended for everyone to install a functional & good looking launcher on their Android device.

Lucid Launcher is one such Android app that offers a range of customizations such as an integrated browser, quick sidebar & vertical homescreens. The vertical homescreens offer features like subtle swiping, favorites sidebar, fast app search & a built-in browser which can be disregarded if you do not wish to use it.

Lucid Launcher does not have a grid, which means you can place any amount of widgets wherever you wish. This launcher has 3 marked workspaces: an application drawer, home page & the 3rd is Google search. This app offers many configuration options which help to personalize it according to your preferences.

lucidlauncherpageThe layouts for a sidebar can be customized by tweaking padding, icon size, background settings & other features. But the alignment of the sidebar cannot be customized, unfortunately. Another drawback is that the icons cannot be dragged between homescreens. But the developer has promised to rectify this limitation. The quick app search lacks a built-in T9 keypad which also counts among the minus points of this app.

Lucid Launcher is a free app & there is a paid version for US $2 which offers earlier updates, more animations, transparent sidebar & custom text to help searches.

In short, Lucid Launcher performs the basic task of a launcher which is to help to users access the needed apps quickly. There is plenty of scope for improvement as the app is young, though it still beats some of the other staid launchers available today.

Lucid Launcher is a product of a developer named powerpoint45 whose other Android apps include “Ping Pong Evolved”,” MOAGOD” & “African Independence Game”.

Find the invisible cow on your computer screen

A new game that’s apparently creating waves Online is  – Find the Invisible Cow. Yup, that’s the name of this one. Like all games that have, of late, become popular, this one’s too uncomplicated. Once you press the Start button, all you have to do is chase the “cow” shout out that emanates on http://findtheinvisiblecow.com/.

Find the invisible cow logo (2)If you get closer to the invisible cow, the yell becomes even louder to let you know you are hot. There is no set time limit to discover the elusive cow, & most players do not take too long to accomplish the task. When you find the invisible cow with your cursor, the arrow changes into a finger. You then have to click to emerge victorious in your quest just like more than 6.6 million jubilant finders have thus far on the Website.

Designed by Scriptist, hardcore buffs can take on the challenge of the “expert mode” in which the cow congratulates finders with a hearty “moo” when they discover it. No doubt this game is all set to become a global craze, perhaps as great a craze as Crazy Frog in schools & offices across the world, so when it does, remember, you read about it 1st on What’s New On The Net.

The game is also available in the form of a mobile app.
