Copyright free images for free. It’s true

If we were to tell you that there’s finally a place where you can get copyright free images for free, what would you say? Figment of our imagination? Blatant lies?

Let us assure you, it’s true. Unsplash is a site where you can find copyright free images in all their splendor for use anywhere for free. The site hosts 10 free, high resolution images every 10 days. So, not only do you not have to pay for using them, the images are free of copyright restrictions under a Creative Commons CC0 designation.

Unsplash, launched barely some days ago, was created by ooomf, an online marketplace to attract creative talent for Online projects. If you subscribe to this new startup’s mailing list, you may even receive regular updates on new photos. The uploaded images are dynamic & of superior quality like this one.

All of us who use the Web know how difficult it is to lay our hands on copyright free images. There’s always some hidden clause, or some built-in cost. That is not so in this case.

Unsplash.com is a free image project driven by the Tumblr engine. The creators of all images hosted on Unsplash have waived off all rights. The images are hosted on the Amazon Cloud. We found many of the images to be in the “general” category so if you are, for example, looking for an image for a product or service, this may not be the place for you to be. Nevertheless, it is a good beginning, especially if you are an advertiser or into designing Splash pages.
