Animated stickers app for iOS, anyone?

Stickers are old hat in Online social communication by now. There’s a new iOS app called Duckey whose developers seem to think otherwise.

new iOS app

The team at LittleBigFun say it realized that the Apple App store did not really have apps dedicated to stickers so decided to go ahead & build one themselves.

Rather than use plain ole’ text or emojis, the team behind this new app thought why not build an iOS keyboard featuring only the best animated characters, to make users’ chats “more expressive & fun”. This was born, Duckey.

Using this new iOS app, you can:

– Express yourself with animated stickers (yes, everything is animated)

– Send fun stickers straight from your keyboard, works with messages, e-mail & more

– A growing library

LittleBigFun is a kinda veteran of Online stickers & emojis, have previously made apps in this genre.

Apple announces iOS 8, to be available from Sept. 17

Apple launches iOS8Apple has announced a new iOS for its mobile devices at the special event held at Cupertino, California, USA to launch the iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus on September 9.

The iOS 8 will be a free upgrade for iPhone, iPad & iPod owners, & will be available from September 17 onwards. The following devices can get the download: iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPod Touch (5th generation), iPad 2, iPad (3rd & 4th gen), iPad Air, iPad mini & iPad mini with Retina display.

Here are some of the features that the new OS will come packed with:

* Will allow users to quickly find & edit photos. They can add voice right into a text message. The all-new Photos app makes it simpler than ever to find & rediscover your favorite photos with new search features & smart albums that organize your photos for you. With a new suite of editing tools, users can make every shot look even better immediately after clicking.

* TouchID, or fingerprint authentication, is being opened up to 3rd-party apps. The Notification Center will offer widgets for the 1st time. Notifications will be actionable – if a banner alert for an SMS comes through, users will be able to fire off a quick reply without leaving their current app.

* iCloud Drive will give a full-blown storage service for all files, while Spotlight is being updated with suggestions based on Wikipedia entries, nearby places & trending news.

* QuickType is introducing predictive typing, similar to Swiftkey. Developers will be able to offer their own 3rd-party keyboards for the first time. iOS 8 will make typing easier, claimed Apple, by suggesting contextually appropriate words to complete your sentences. It will even recognize the person to whom you’re typing & whether you’re in Mail or Messages, based on the tone of the message or email.

* Siri is also being upgraded & new enterprise features will be introduced for business users.

* Messages will allow users to connect with friends & family even better. Users can tap to add voice to any conversation. They can send a video of what they are seeing the moment they are actually seeing it.
