Gusto aims to simplify your email Inbox

Gusto is a new email app for the iPhone which helps you organize your emails & photos across all your email accounts.

Gusto gives you single unified search box to help you find anything that’s “somewhere” in your email accounts, or stuff you may have even forgotten about. Plug in your accounts into the free app, & it will sort out everything into 4 tabs – mail, files, photos & “all.”

Since Gusto combines mobile email with Cloud storage, you don’t have to worry about space crunch while saving important documents you’ve received or sent, & you don’t have to remember where you saved it. The comprehensive search allows you to look for files & emails not just by keyword, but also by file type, contact name, date, the email account & more.

gustopageApart from being able to find files & emails easily, there are plenty of advantages that make this kind of a service very useful.  For instance, you could attach a file that Gusto had acquired from any of your accounts to a new email on any account.

Considering the fact that this app is free, Gusto may do well in the email client market. However, this is the 2nd avatar for the Indianapolis-based company, which originally debuted as an enterprise messaging tool called Sendgine that was co-founded by Jeff Goens & Colin Matthews.

The duo had raised US $1.2 million in angel funding, & were almost out of cash when ChaCha & Overstock.com alum Shawn Schwegman was called in to help. He took over the company as CEO & changed everything from the name to the product & target segment.

Schwegman says the idea for Gusto grew out of his own frustrations trying to keep track of files & photos buried in emails & all over the web. “I knew there had to be an easier way to organize my digital life,” Schwegmanhas been quoted as saying. “Just as Google organizes & helps you find the world’s Content, you can use Gusto to organize & find your Content.”

This Indianapolis, USA-located company, just a few days ago, also secured US $1.3 million in venture financing through a round led by Elevate Ventures.
