Sunrise calendar app now on Android & desktop

Sunrise is a free calendar app made for Google Calendar & the iCloud. It’s already one of the more popular calendar apps that are available for iOS, but the company has now released similar apps for Android-powered devices as well as for desktops.

The Android app synchronizes perfectly with both iCloud & Google Calendar. It offers agenda view as well as a 3-day calendar date view so that you can get a quick & complete overview of your schedule, with a widget that displays upcoming events using separate icons.

The Web app is available from anywhere if you just fire up your browser & go to calendar.sunrise.am. It’s also available as a Chrome app which you can add to your desktop’s browser.

If you install it as a browser extension, the Web app can be used offline too. The desktop app is designed to make use of the wide space available, & you’ll see clean & expansive views that give you perfect visualizations of your schedule.

You may also synchronize your Sunrise account between the desktop app & both the mobile platforms, so that you get the same & most up-to-date view regardless of the device being used to access the app.

The only thing missing at the moment is that they don’t have apps for Android Tablets & Exchange Calendars. They plan to rectify this in the near future, so expect to see these versions of the Sunrise Calendar app later this summer.

The New York City, USA-based Sunrise Atelier, Inc. was founded in Dec 2012 by Jeremy Le Van & Pierre Valade. The company has raised funding through angel investors, & then a seed funding round in June 2013 in which they raised US $2.2 million.
