New Internet startup Markerly comes to the aid of Online publishers

Content is King, so goes the saying. With the Content explosion that we see these days, it has become very difficult for Online publishers to know what people truly love to read, what’s trending for the moment, & stuff like that.

To make their lives a little easier, there`s now a new Internet startup called Markerly. The latter offers social tools to help publishers/site owners increase user engagement, while also providing deep insight into what users are actually reading & engaging with. Markerly also has a micro-sharing browser plugin which makes it easy to share specific quotes & images.

Markerly’s publisher tools include:
-A sharing widget which provides instant text & photo sharing functionality
-Premium analytics on what users are sharing, reading & engaging with.

Markerly claims it has brought Web microcontent & sharing to publishers. This new Internet startup was launched mid-2012, & is the brainchild of 3 people – Sarah Ware, CEO, Justin Kline, the COO & Rahf Noor, the CTO.

Here’s why site owners should have this new Internet startup (in the latter’s own words):

– You want in-depth details on how your users are engaging on your site
– You need something with a small footprint
– You prefer nearly zero configuration
– You are not interested in large scale, monolithic analytical platforms
– You prefer a simple solution to a complex problem
– You want data that you can turn into actionable items

markerly1A free service, Markerly lets publishers know what Content is being copied & pasted from their sites (Plagiarists, watch out!). This feature helps site owners get clues to the most useful microcontent that is generating interest among the users. Markerly aims at giving publishers an insight into the actions of consumers & readers while  searching, saving, purchasing & sharing information. Moreover, publishers can provide this behavioral & contextual data to their advertisers. Markerly is an interesting service that wants to combine the interest graph & the social graph. But to get all the data, a site owners has to 1st place a tiny bit of code on the site.

Markerly claims to do all of these things – give publishers reader feedback & usage data, increase a site’s pageviews, & make it more SEO friendly & thus sociable.
