Mobile messaging app MessageMe, launched last week, has already got 1 million users within 7 days.

This startup hit the headlines because of its feud with social networking site Facebook. MessageMe quickly ran afoul of Facebook, with the latter cutting off the ability of MessageMe’s users to automatically add their Facebook friends to the new service.

This new startup has attracted US $1.9 million in cash from more than a half dozen venture capital funds.

MessageMe is available from Apple’s App Store & Google Play. In a blog post, the app’s co-founders have revealed some interesting statistics including the fact that every second, some 500-odd notifications were being sent by members using this service.
