Tokyo, Japan – June 27, 2014 – LINE Corporation, owner and operator of the free call and messaging app LINE, announced that its LINE Creators Market opened up sales to more countries yesterday.

LINE Creators Market ( https://creator.line.me/en/ ) is a marketplace where LINE users worldwide can become creators and design and sell their very own LINE stickers. Stickers submitted to the Creators Market are reviewed by LINE, and go on sale on LINE Web Store and the in-app Sticker Shop at JPY 100 per set of 40 once they are approved. Approximately 50% of the proceeds from the sale of these stickers go to their creators.

Since the opening of registrations and submissions on April 16, 2014, LINE Creators Market has topped 100,000 creators and 14,000 sets of submitted stickers. Over 1.7 million sets were sold and a total revenue of JPY 150 million was achieved within one month after the stickers went on sale on May 8. Creators’ stickers have been sent over 81 million times among LINE users, and have grown to become a brand new means of expression for creators around the world in this smartphone era on the level of photography, film, writing, and apps.

From June 23, creators’ stickers went on sale globally on the Sticker Shop within the LINE app. Creators can release their stickers in any region they wish simply by selecting them on the sticker management page. This allows creators the opportunity for their original designs and characters to be seen by over 470 million LINE users worldwide, and further expands the variety of stickers these users can enjoy at their fingertips.

LINE Web Store ( https://store.line.me/ ), an online store allowing users to browse LINE contents, including stickers and themes, and in-game currencies for LINE GAME titles from the comfort of their PC or smartphone browsers, and purchase them using a number of payment options, including pre-paid cards and mobile phone billing, was also extended to nine new regions today, including Spain and the United States, and added support for five new languages, including Spanish. Creator’s stickers were also made available on the LINE Web Store for these regions.
