Location-based social networking app Bethere as an “evolution” of Foursquare

Bethere is a new location-based social networking app that lets you & your friends know where each of you are going to be at in the next few days.

This app for iOS comes even as Foursquare moves out of the checking into venues business. The latest update for the Foursquare app, which is now version 8.0, does not allow you to check into venues.

Foursquare has instead moved this feature, which was basically what the original Foursquare was all about, to a spin-off app called Swarm which was launched in May & allows you to check into places & see what your friends are doing.

You can think of Bethere, developed by Panos Spyrakis, as an evolution of what Foursquare & Swarm let you do, & allows you to check-in before you get there.

The Bethere social networking app piggybacks on your Facebook network of friends, letting you see how many & which of them are going to be what venues in the coming days.

You can choose to do the same, & create a schedule of all the places you are going to be at. You get an instant notification when one of your friends adds a place & time to his or her schedule.

Bethere will remind you to take a snap when you reach a venue, & you can upload your Instagram & Facebook to betheres & your venues.

You can tag friends in betheres, like photos & betheres, & become friends with others who also plan to be at one of the same locations which you will be at. There’s also a activity wall you can track.

You can of course change the privacy settings to limit visibility of your info & posts to your close friends.
