Internet usage in the UK has doubled, but it took 6 years

Statistics have revealed that 33 million adults accessed the Internet daily in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2012 as compared to 16 million in 2006.

A report in London’s Financial Times said over two-thirds of British adults were today  newlogo.gifusing the Internet every day, twice the proportion who did so just six years ago. The highest usage was obviously among the youngest age group, the report said, quoting figures from the Office for National Statistics.

Use of the Internet for telephone or video calls had also gone up with 32% of adults using it for that purpose in 2012, four times the 8% in 2007.

The most common reason for using the Internet was for sending & receiving emails, followed by buying goods & services Online & Online banking.
