Wanna keep a journal, anyone? Then, this app is for you. The Heyday journal app is the modern-day way of keeping a log of your day-to-day life. It allows users to take all the pictures & videos in your iPhone & turn them into a beautiful journal of your life & its most cherished memories.

Without any meddling on your part, the app by itself will automatically chronicle all the things you do & see & all the places you go to.

The Heyday app has more than 18 photo filters & 50 unique collage layouts to make your life in pictures & videos a very professional & gauzy affair. It will also notify you about your previous visit to a place, if you happen to be in that place again. It neatly displays collections of all your pictures taken at the same time.

It’s a bit eerie, since the app has the “smarts” to herd pictures taken during the same time period, detect faces, choose the photos that have the best focus, & then put it all together in a layout matching the chosen pictures. You can obviously add or remove pictures from the lot, & change the filters to get the kind of montages you prefer. You can also turn off the notifications if the app is pestering you.

The best part is that it’s blazing fast, since everything is stored locally, & the app doesn’t have to go looking for clouds & social networks to upload or stream multimedia files all the time. Oh, & it’s completely free, which gives it a leg up against other popular journal apps such as DayOne.

The San Francisco, US-based Hey, Inc. was founded in Feb 2012 by Alex Le & Siqi Chen. Alex is the VP for product, while Chen is the CEO. They launched the Heyday iOS app in Dec 2013, after 18 months of development. An Android version of this app is still in the works.
