Hater: Facebook’s alter-ego?

If you have had enough of clicking on the ‘Like’ button, don’t worry. There’s now a ‘Hate’ button. In fact, not just a button but a new Hate app itself.

Don’t have the guts to say “I hate you” to someone you know? Not to worry cause Hater is here.

Hater is an app that allows you to express your displeasure or hate towards people or things. This is a new app for the iPhone so sorry, you folks using Android. Once you have downloaded Hater from the Apple Store, you can sign in with a username & password & start hating the people/things who deserve it.

HaterYou may, for example, hate the traffic you are in, or that yellow dress you bought last week-end or the neighbour’s dog. Simply click a snap through the Hater camera, filter it & tag it with a nasty comment. Can’t get a picture of that ferocious dog? Hater lets you browse through the Internet and grab a picture of the dog & post it, so the entire world knows which breed you dislike. Hater seems to be a good medium through which people can take out their frustrations on something or someone, and get over it by just typing out the gripe on Hater so your followers don’t make the mistake of doing things that miff you.

Don’t want to reveal your identity? Hater protects your privacy by giving you the option of “share with alter ego”. So go ahead & write fearlessly about the bad haircut your best friend just had without her getting to know that it’s actually you who posted that one.

Hater also gives its users an opportunity of receiving ‘Live’ streaming of the hate comments from your friends. Hater was launched last week-end in Austin, Texas where the nine-day South by Southwest (or SXSW for those in the know), festivals & conferences designed to highlight the hottest new entrants in the world of music, film & technology.

So the next time you bump into Jake Banks, the guy who designed this new app, tell him how much you love to hate people on “Hater”.
