Google launches a Maps based game called Smarty Pins

Google GamesSearch major Google has found a neat way of making more & more people use Google Maps. It’s now launched a game called Smarty Pins around Maps.

Essentially, this is a trivia game whose basic premise is asking users to answer a series of questions, & by way of answers, users have to drop pins at the location of the answers.

Everyone starts with 1,000 miles. The questions are fixed section-wise. The categories include Arts & Culture, Sports, Geography, among others. If you are not interested in those, Google can also pick a category by random. Once you are asked a question, you need to drop your pin where you think the correct answer lies. If it’s the wrong reply, Google calculates how far away your pin is from the correct answer & subtracts that from your 1,000 miles.

You, of course, are playing against time. As soon as you have been asked a question, a timer starts, counting down from 15.
