Fliplingo: Translates your tweets & even Twitter replies

fliplingoName one of the biggest handicaps that a non-English speaking Internet user faces? Well, that’s it – much of the Content on the Web is in English! Never thought of that, eh?

This lack of knowing English also stops a lot of people from using social networks like Facebook, Twitter, among others. At least in Twitter’s case, that may no longer be the case. For there’s a translation service now called Fliplingo.

This service will translate your tweets & even reply to other’s tweets into the 33 different languages that it offers. Available is both – human as well as machine translation (done by a computer). While the latter is free, the former is to be paid for on a per word basis. The idea behind this new startup of course, is do away with linguistic barriers.

To get started, you need to authorize your Twitter account, select the language that you would like your tweets to be translated into and published in, & choose your timezone.

Using the Delware, USA-located Fliplingo, you may set up a Flip. This acts as a trigger that you setup to automatically translate all of your tweets. A flip will fetch all your tweets from your chosen Twitter account, send them for translation in your chosen language & finally posts the translation. You can pause & resume a Flip at any time. You may also choose to review the translation before it is posted. Options include languages, time zones, machine vs. human translations, & more. Thus, the service is good for those wanting to reach out to & interact with audiences across countries & languages, helping Online community managers & marketers to target wider traffic.

The translations, by the way, are processed by translartion service Gengo. To deliver high level translations, these guys claim, translators are professionally tested & native speakers; & quality is continuously measured following a proprietary Quality Assurance Process. This quality of translations is designed for everyday personal & business use.
