Delve becomes a ‘Wiser’ social newsreader platform

Delve, a social newsreader platform that provides users with curated Content culled from the vast ocean of Content on the Internet, has been renamed & launched anew as Wiser.

As many of the best Content providers on the planet have found, it’s very hard, if not impossible, to get people to pay money for paid Content on the Web. This very pervasive cheapskate attitude continues to drive the flood of free new Content that becomes available every second of every day. This in turn means that it’s very hard for people to find Content they would like to read.

This is where Wiser comes into the picture. It may have undergone several iterations & name changes, but the basic concept of a social newsreader platform that provides you with curated Content remains the same.

Wiser offers you three options, or packages. One is a free email digest which provides you with a daily fix of breaking news & timely Content, curated to be relevant for you.

wiserpageThe second option is a US $49/month Web & email team package that leverages the Wiser social newsreader platform & its professional-grade recommendation engine to provide Content for the entire workgroup.

The third choice is a $499/month package for the entire organization.

The way Wiser does its job is pretty interesting. Unlike other social newsreader platforms, Wiser doesn’t depend on human curators. The software combines its own recommendation engine with social recommendations provided by your co-workers to show you the most relevant Content.

This means that Content based on topics, keywords & sources is further refined based on what your colleagues are reading. The logical extension is to enable collaboration, which Wiser enables quite well. You can collaborate, share & comment on reads.

Depending on the package chosen, you might also be able to create groups & tags to organize people & content for targeting & retrieval. The platform also enables management of multiple groups across entire departments, divisions & offices if you subscribe to the $499 package.

Delve, based in New York City, was officially co-founded in Nov 2012 by Sandeep Ayyappan, Andrew Whalen & Thomas Weingarten. Ayyappan is the company’s CEO, Whalen the CCO & Weingarten is the CTO.
