Batch Insights aggregates & tracks mobile push notifications data

Batch Insights is a new Online tool for mobile developers & other marketers that aggregates mobile push notifications & lets users search & filter through the flood of data to find what they need.

There are billions of mobile push notifications sent every day to people all over the world, & the data in these messages will show you exactly how each company is marketing its products & services. The problem, of course, is that it’s really hard to mine Big Data if you’re a small business or mobile developer making apps in your basement.

mobile push notifications

Thus, the kind of computing resources you’d need to collect information about your competitors & filter mobile push notifications based on your keyword queries would take your IT investment to a whole new level. You could individually monitor the messages being put out by all your competitors by installing their apps & reading every notification by each competitor, but you still won’t be able to search through the billions of notifications floating around. Besides, installing & watching your all competitors’ apps will consume a whole lot of time or manpower, & it still won’t provide you with industry-wide insights.

It’s far easier when you can just sign up & create an account with Batch Insights & run your queries, track specific competitors & seek inspiration for your own marketing ideas from all the push notifications you see.

What’s intriguing is that they’re also coming up with an API, which should enable a lot of mobile developers to use the push notification data & create more specific industry-based apps.

Also note that this is the 1st product release for mobile developers from the team at Batch.com – a domain name that boosts their prospects a lot. The company plans to release more such analytics tools under this domain for mobile developers.

Batch Insights was founded in Nov 2014 by the same Paris, France-based team that founded Appgratis. Simon Dawlat is Batch.com CEO, with Sylvain Ramousse & Antoine Guénard as co-founders. The team has raised US $13.5 million for Appgratis in Series A funding in Jan 2013.

Fiksu Indexes: app downloads hit all-time high in October

This press release has been published as it is without any editing. This Website has not verified claims, if any, made it in.
Boston, November 24, 2014: The full impact of iOS 8 and iPhone 6/6 Plus launches on app marketing were reflected in the October Fiksu Indexes, published today by Fiksu, Inc. (www.fiksu.com), developer of award-winning mobile marketing technologies. The Fiksu App Store Competitive Index, which tracks the average aggregate daily download volume of the top 200 free iOS apps, hit an all-time high of 7.8 million, representing a whopping 42 percent rise over September and a 39 percent year-over-year increase. That surge of activity was primarily driven by the unprecedented popularity of the iPhone 6, as millions of users loaded up their new devices with their favorite apps.

Even though marketers were competing heavily during the month, driving up CPIs, Fiksu’s Cost per Loyal User Index (CPLU) showed a slight decline in October to $2.16 from September’s $2.25, as a result of the tendency of app users to quickly re-download their ‘vital apps’1 during upgrades. The first set of apps users download on their new iPhone 6s are likely to be those they can’t live without, which makes them much more likely to become loyal users of those apps.  The trend underscores the importance of nurturing user loyalty prior to device launches and gift-giving seasons.

Despite the decline in cost per loyal user, the fact remains that the cost to acquire loyal users is still high: October’s CPLU is up 33 percent year-over-year, and other iOS metrics were up as well. The Cost per Launch (CPL) Index, which tracks the costs of driving engagement from mobile users, showed an increase on iOS to $0.26 up 24 percent month-over-month and 39 percent year-over-year. iOS Cost Per Install (CPI) increased 21 percent from September to $1.46, for a 59 percent rise year-over-year. This substantial jump in costs demonstrates a marked growth in competition this year as advertising dollars continue to flow into mobile.

“While recent indexes have shown a steady stream of escalating costs, the October index numbers validate another important trend: the increasing importance of apps to consumers,” said Micah Adler, CEO of Fiksu. “Mobile marketers must start thinking strategically about their marketing tactics over the longer term and figure out how to use apps to connect with customers. October’s hindsight should serve as a guide for marketers preparing for impending holiday activity.”

In the coming months, marketers should also look to capitalize on untapped Android opportunities, Fiksu advises. The October Indexes showed CPL on Android at $0.10, up 28 percent month-over-month but down 26 percent year-over-year. Android CPI increased slightly to $1.10, representing a 1 percent increase from September, and 2 percent increase year-over-year. Given that costs and competition are lower on Android, marketers should look to use this channel to their advantage.

The Fiksu Indexes measure monthly fluctuations in competition for rank in the Apple App Store and the cost to acquire loyal users, helping mobile app marketers benchmark their performance against industry trends, remove complexity and guesswork and plan with more agility.

In the interest of more accurately representing how the incentivized traffic impacts the Cost per Install and Cost per Launch metrics, Fiksu has updated the formulas used to calculate those indexes. As a result some previous months’ data has been adjusted to reflect that new formula.
