Mitro is a company set up by 3 former Googlers. It claims to lick the problem on how to remember passwords in 2 ways – for personal use & for common use between colleagues, friends & families.
Let’s tackle the personal password problem, first. Most of us while logging into websites or bank accounts Online are prompted for passwords? So how does one keep track of passwords? Once you have downloaded the Mitro web browser extension, you are set. Except the 1st time you log into anything, the rest of the time the Mitro extension remembers your password, everytime. And it does this across all computing devices. So no need for keeping a safe list of all your passwords or putting up some sticky notes as a reminder. Mitro does it for you.
For the Enterprise or business, you can use this new startup to share accounts with colleague, teammates, friends, roommates, or co-workers. To remember passwords within a group, you may add individuals using their email address, & create teams to add groups of people at once.
The New York-based Mitro has got itself a US $1.2 million in seed funding from Google Ventures & Matrix Partners. For now, there’s only a Chrome browser extension but we are told there’s one coming for Firefox & Android, too (they are in beta).
Mitro also shows you what applications people are using, who has access, & who logged in last. For now, the extension is free. So, here perhaps lies the answer to one oft asked question Online – How to remember passwords?
