In today’s day & age of the Internet, the former government-owned Deutsche Post has decided to get its act together & “go with the flow”. It has launched a new free messaging app called SIMSme which allows customers to securely send text messages, photos, videos, contact & location information.
All messages are automatically encrypted by the sender & can only be decrypted by the recipient. All data is stored on servers in Germany & messages are deleted from the servers after delivery to the recipient. Users who want to send particularly sensitive messages can equip SIMSme with an extra self-destruction feature EUR 0.89. This is a feature can be used as needed for all messages, providing another layer of security for those users who do not want their data & photos to be permanently visible online.

End-to-end encryption
Your data remains your data. Messages are encrypted on the sender’s device & can only be decrypted on the recipient’s device. Even the operators cannot view the same on their own servers.

No extra phone book
SIMSme uses your phone/address book to connect you to your contacts. The phone numbers in your phone book are anonymised & compared to our user database in an encrypted manner.
Servers in Germany
The SIMSme servers are located in Germany, which means that your data has to be handled in accordance with German Data Protection Guidelines.
Self destructing messages
Using SIMSme, you can either specify an “expiration date” for your messages or only make your messages readable for a certain period of time. The “self-destruction” feature serves to keep private matters truly private.
