Apple launches iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S and the iOS7

In the end it worked out on predictable lines. Apple Inc on Tuesday unveiled the next-generation of iPhones at its Cupertino, California, USA headquarters. First, it was the iOS 7 that was announced followed by the iPhone 5C, positioned as a low-cost model, & then the iPhone 5S.

Calling it the most “forward-looking” iPhone it’s ever launched, Apple’s top honchos said the iPhone 5S was fitted with a new, faster processor called the Apple A7, that would now help run 64-bit apps. Apple has re-engineered all the built-in apps — such as the Email, Calendar and iPod — for 64-bit architectures.

iOS7 launchedApple said the new chip would make the iPhone 5S five times faster than the iPhone 5. New game Infinity Blade 3 will be one of the first games to be released with this new set-up.

Apple’s CEO Tim Cook first took the stage at the gala launch. He announced the company planned on shipping its 700 millionth iOS device soon. The iOS 7 will be out on September 18. It can be downloaded for free from iPhone 4 onwards, iPad 2 & the 5th generation iPod Touch.

The iPhone 5C is selling at US $99 for 16 GB, in order to pull in more customers. The 5C will come with a polycarbonate shell & the option of a green, white, blue, pink, or yellow “soft-feel” silicon rubber surround.

The iPhone 5S, on the other hand, will also come in Grey Space and Gold colors.
