TechHub comes to India

TechHub Bangalore

International centre of tech entrepreneurs & startups, TechHub, has decided to come to India. It will be opening its 1st Indian hub to get access to the country’s “predicted $100 billion technology industry”.

The hub will be based in India’s southern state of Bangalore. TechHub is already in the UK, Latvia and Bucharest. TechHub provides work space, access to global contacts, among other initiatives to tech startups, but unlike other incubators, does not take any equity in them. Instead, it charges the startups a fee for what it is providing.

As a pre-event, TechHub has announced a launch party tomorrow.

Here are 6 reasons why you should join TechHub if you are a Bangalore startup (according to TH)

Joint venture firm launches Zone Startups in Mumbai

startupslogoToronto, Canada-based Ryerson Futures Inc. has launched a startup incubation program called ‘Zone Startups’, in a joint venture with the Bombay Stock Exchange Institute in Mumbai, India

The accelerator program is focused on mobile, internet & digital media startups across verticals like consumer, enterprise & social, according to Ajay Ramasubramaniam, Director of Business Development (India) at Ryerson Futures.

Ryerson Futures started its India operations in March this year. It’s now working with 31 startups – 24 based out of the program while the remaining are in virtual mode, according to a report in techcircle.in. The firm has a revolving program which basically means it receives applications throughout the year.

But startups at the ideation stage is not what these chaps are looking out for. It will only fund startups at the beta testing stage & must have at least 2 co-founders.

What is offered is 4 months of acceleration to selected startups. The package includes infrastructure, mentorship, business development & market development support & access to investors.
