German co Peaches releases mobile prepaid topup app

Wiesbaden, the German-based Peaches Group, which offers independent prepaid services, has released the prelado mobile prepaid topup app for Windows Phone 8 users.

It’s a fast & easy way to do mobile prepaid credit topups on the go & in real-time while the user is still using the phone, according to the company. Users simply have to download the free app from the Windows Store & enter their mobile number to start using it.

The full amount of the mobile prepaid topup as provided by the network operator is added to the user’s account, & Peaches does not charge any fees. Versions for users on the web & for iOS & Android-powered devices were already available.

There’s no need to register to use prelado, & users may optionally access data from their mobile network provider if they want to see their credit balance. Any new credit added through the prelado app is instantly updated & will be reflected in the credit balance available.

Note that some network providers may not allow the user to access the full functionality of the app, but it works for topups for most mobile network service providers in Germany.

Hipstamatic Oggl photo app version 2.1 adds AirPlay support

Hipstamatic has released a new version of its Oggl photo app to include new features such as a ‘SurfMode’ to see slideshows & AirPlay support to stream it on Apple TV.

Hipstamatic & its vintage iPhone camera photo app once looked like a potential smartphone era successor to Flickr, but found itself struggling once Instagram sucked away all the oxygen. Hipstamatic ended up having to lay off engineers, while Instagram’s star rose high enough for it to be acquired by Yahoo for a neat $1 billion.

new photo appHowever, Hipstamatic’s launch of Oggl in May 2013 was meant to reposition the company as the provider of an app that goes well beyond the usual photo capture-&-upload app to help people discover & capture iconic imagery & curate their lives through beautiful photography.

Lucas Allen Buick, CEO & co-founder of the San Francisco, USA-based Hipstamatic, even told Gigaom that Oggl was supposed to be an art tool, as opposed to a communication tool.

The app is free, but users may sign up for a subscription service ($2.99/month or $9.99/year) that provides access to Hipstamatic’s collection of lenses & films.

The art part also extends to the app’s ability to let you create a collection & share it with the community.

Oggl Version 2.0 was released in Dec 2013, & included new features such as an Instagram feed & allowed people to crate “collections.”

Now comes version 2.1, with 2 new features that seem interesting. One is SurfMode, where you turn your device sideways if you want the feed you are seeing be shown as a slideshow. The 2nd feature is SurfMode on AirPlay, which lets you present any feed on Oggl to Apple TV, which means your photo feed of any event or occasion would be broadcast live as you update it.

You can also edit a photo after you take it using different looks, & get a preview with the effects before you take the photo. There’s also a notifications ticker now that shows details about how your photo uploads are doing on the social networks (likes, reposts, etc.).

The new version is currently only available for iOS users, but you can expect Windows phone users to get the updated version soon.
