HEARD

Have you heard of HEARD, the new iOS app?

This new iOS app is no ordinary recording device, though recording audio is what it essentially does.

Going by the name HEARD, this new app is constantly running in the background on your iPhone, recording the ambient noises around you. You can then essentially rewind (to use an outdated term) those minutes, decide what part of the recorded noise you wanna keep, & discard the rest.

heardscreenshotsSo of what use can this new iOS app be? Think of it. There are moments that whizz past you, which in hindisight you wished would have been recorded for posterity. Your child’s first word, your boss firing you….get it? Here’s your chance.

Once you open this new iOS app, it starts recording everything within range of the iPhone’s microphone. How much audio you want recorded depends on you, from a few seconds to almost 5 minutes. The sound or noise around you is recorded in a constantly rotating buffer. If you suddenly realize that there was something in the last 5 minutes you actually wanted to store away, all that you then need to do is to tap a single button & that particular piece of buffered sound gets recorded in your phone. Forever. Obviously, if you do not respond, the 5 minute buffer gets erased & new sounds are recorded. It’s an on-going process.

By the way, whatever you have recorded can be tagged & stored or even shared Online.

This new iOS app has been released by Faalsa Labs & is free to use. It is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, & the iPad. It requires iOS 5.0 or later version & has been optimized for the iPhone 5.
