Protecting your smartphone gets easier with Lookout Security and Antivirus

Smartphone security today virtually offers the same benefits, irrespective of the OS. Many developers offer various protection services against virus, malware, etc. Norton, AGV & Quick Heal are some companies which have released their apps for security & protection. In that pool of apps is Lookout Security & Antivirus, which has been steadily climbing the list of popular security apps.

So what makes this app special? The answer is “simple”. Lookout is one of the easiest apps to use when it comes to smartphone security. A sleek design, smart features, & good malware support mean it has all the pieces of a solid Android and iOS security app. The Android ‘Start’ screen, for example, displays a dashboard with a ‘live’ activity feed, & shortcuts to features underneath. The activity feed gives updates like when the app last scanned your device for malware, or whether that last app you downloaded was safe. These nifty features come when you are loading bunch of apps on your smartphone. Lookout’s approach makes it clear that the app is working behind the scenes to keep your device safe.

Lookout’s iOS & Android app has 2 versions. The free version has limited functionality like anti-malware protection, backup of contacts, remote locate, & scream. The paid version costs US $2.99/month or $29.99/year. The paid version has 2GB of cloud storage to backup your photos & call history, a ‘Safe Browser’ feature that blocks malicious links it detects in the stock browser & Chrome, a privacy advisor for your apps, & remote lock & wipe. If you really can’t find your device, whether it was lost or stolen, the Premium remote wipe & lock features are far more important to have than remote locate & scream. Lookout lets you remotely lock, scream, or geolocate your device.   Enabling the better protection feature Lookout protects the devices from external attacks from GPS or WiFi. Lookout also emails you photos of a would-be thief taken with your device’s front facing camera, but only after an incorrect passcode has been entered 3 times. In the competitive space of mobile security, Lookout is set apart because of its features & services. There are many other apps such as Kaspersky or Bitdefender. But the reason to use this app is its simplicity. Lookout works in the background without bugging the user with notifications.
