Got an idea? Run it through Google Ventures Design Sprint to see whether it’s viable

startup ideas

We all get ideas that we think can be converted into businesses. Yet, statistics show that 99% of startups are doomed to fail. Not only does this mean loss of money but also loss of time & effort.

Now, Google Ventures has launched what it calls as the Design Sprint. This gives those who come up with ideas 7 days to design, prototype & test the idea with real people. Yup, in about a week’s time, you will get to know whether the brainwave you had with your friend over beer is truly a wonderful business idea or not.

Google Ventures has called it the “greatest hits” of business strategy, innovation, behavior science, design thinking, & more — packaged into a battle-tested process that any team can use.

When you go to the Spint Site, you will see a page which is touted by Google Ventures as a DIY guide for running your own sprint. On Monday, you’ll unpack the problem. On Tuesday, you’ll sketch competing solutions on paper. On Wednesday, you’ll argue and decide how to turn your ideas into a testable hypothesis. On Thursday, you’ll hammer out a high-fidelity prototype. And on Friday, you’ll test it with real live humans.
