Are Online dating Sites back in the groove? Recently, the Clover mobile dating app became available for free download on the Apple App Store. Billed as a “fun, free & safe way to meet singles,” this app seems to be the place to meet new people.
Of late, there seems to be rash of such dating Sites or apps. Just last week, we had written about Hinge, again a dating app. We think the new rush was sparked off by some amount of success that match-making/dating app Tinder got post-launch. Anyway, all these apps put together are making the experience of meeting like-minded people Online far easier, & perhaps safe & fun.
Coming to Clover, the app seems to allow for a lot more flexibility as compared to Tinder. You can set the GPS feature on or off, & anonymously look at the profiles of people nearby who might be a good match for you. You can further refine the search by setting filters for age, distance from your location, & based on whether the person is online at that moment.
It runs atop Facebook data, so whatever you put in your ‘About Me’ page on Facebook will end up in the Clover profile. You can keep track of people you like, & also those who like you. It also has a chat tool, so that you can stay within the app while talking to people you like & who respond back in kind.
The app doesn’t rush you through possible matches, so you can scroll the profile to your heart’s content & at your own pace. As you check out the profile, you have the option of an “X” to reject the match or a heart to “like” the profile.

Clover’s founder is Isaac Raichyk, who was most recently CEO of Keek, a social networking service that allows quick video uploads.
