Bitcoins are fast becoming the rage. For those who have never heard of ém, here’s a low down:

This is a new, digital system of currency, apparently decentralized (unlike US dollars backed by the Fed) that is obtained through “mining.” Those who want to own bitcoins have to unlock an algorithm resulting in a 64-digit number, following which you will “earn” 50 bitcoins. Only 21 million bitcoins are available to be unlocked in total; in other words, there’s a finite amount available – which is why they call it mining.

There are bitcoin exchanges where you can buy/sell bitcoins with others. The biggest exchange is Mt. Gox.

Anyway, enough of the bitcoin lesson. Now, apparently, there’s a Online gaming platform that allows players to play using bitcoin. SatoshiGrid.com offers players a chance at winning a huge prize in bitcoins, too. This is a multi-player game where users have to find a “prize POT” under one of the 1ok yellow bricks.

While the rules of the game are simple, players need to deposit 0.0013 bitcoin to unlock or uncover each brick. The POT grows after block number 1200 is unlocked, & we are told that by the end of the game, there’s some serious money to be won.
