Postcard: Write once and share your Content across social networks

Almost all social network managers gripe about the fact that sharing Content on multiple social networks is tedious. Then, there’s the issue of storing this data securely. There is help at hand for community managers. Postcard is a recently launched iOS app that helps you simultaneously share Content on multiple social sites.

The highlight of Postcard is the “Custom Network” feature which enables you to post Content on your own Website. You can use your Site to host the Content & get traffic from the social networks where you shared the Content.

Postcard also offers a WordPress plugin that helps you link the app to your WP blog. This is how you will be able to host Content shared through PostCard on your blog or Website. The Content posted on your blog is does not have character restrictions like in some social networks.

The WordPress plugin offers features like shortcodes that enable easy display of the gallery, feed or archive of your Content. This plugin is offered free of cost on WordPress.org. You can use the app & the plugin to build an archive of the data shared on social networks.

Postcard is a creation of designer Kyle Newsome who says he was motivated to build the app to help users solve Content control & ownership issues prevalent in social media. Users can utilize Postcard to keep their blog fresh & updated. You can update your social networks & direct the ensuing traffic to your Website. Kyle is currently developing an Android version of the app.

Postcard claims it does not store any Content or create social networks. All the data is stored on your phone. Custom Network only directs Content to your blog where you can store & own it.

In short, Postcard helps Content creators to host Content on their website, share it on social networks & direct the resulting traffic to their site. Thus they are assured of ownership of the Content which they can archive on their site to be presented & sorted in a convenient manner.

Iwunta invites your nearest friends to gather for your social event

Iwunta is a wearable & mobile social invite app that helps you schedule a date, lunch meeting or get-together with your friends & acquaintances if they are in your vicinity. All you need to do is select your activity, time & list of friends, & the app does the rest. Iwunta uses the start time of your event & the location of nearby friends to determine who you can hook up with.

Iwunta combines location-based algorithms with subscribers’ contact lists to send social invites to relevant friends. For instance, if you wish to have coffee in 15 minutes, iwunta invites friends who are within two miles. If you wish to watch a movie at a cinema hall in an hour, iwunta invites your mates within the city. Thus, the app ensures that invites are sent only to friends who have the best chance of making it to your event.

All the friends who are interested in meeting up are included in a group chat. Your iwunta social invites can also be sent to select groups such as neighbors, siblings & classmates. You can make use of your Facebook groups to send invites faster. Information about users’ actual location is kept private. The creator says this app is also easy on the battery.

Iwunta thus helps you to become more socially active & enjoy more events & activities with your circle of friends & groups. All group chats are automatically erased at the end of the activity to prevent spam. The group chats are kept private & only those who are interested in meeting up are included in the chat to keep it organized. Users can share their events & activities on social networks to make more friends & join new groups.

Iwunta is a product of Los Angeles, USA-based Cloudwear Inc. which was founded last year. It was launched this month as a wearable technology on the Samsung Gear 2 smartwatch. This app will soon be released for both iOS & Android devices.
