Find a co-founder for your startup

Here’s a quick headsup. For the entrepreneurs out there, there’s a startup called Techpear that allows you to find co-founders for your project. We are aware of similar services like Founder2be, so now there’s a new kid on the block.

Techpear is positioned as a social network for entrepreneurs. There’s not much detail available on the website but the service seems free. All that entrepreneurs should do is to register to use the same.

emails that self destruct

Service that allows you to send emails and SMS that self destruct

Once, it would have reminded us of a James Bond flick, something unbelievable, but these things have ceased to amaze us, since. In the post-Snowden era, understandbly, people are apprehensive while using any form of electronic communications. What if someone else is reading those emails? What if the Govt is looking at all your emails? So, if we were to tell you of a service where emails self-destruct, SMS, even, what would be your reaction? Not possible? Well, better believe it.

Actually, SecretInk reminds us of a by-gone era, the Cold War, when spies would use what were known as one-time pads to send out secret messages. This startup’s something like that. Send a message, which, after the receipient has read it, self destructs. Yes, there’s such a service now available.

SecretInk is a product of PowerInbox, the email platform company which merged with competitor ActivePath a few months ago. And, the service is absolutely free.

The folks at PowerInBox have kept things fairly simple at SecretInk. Users do not even need to register or leave any kind of identification behind (would defeat the purpose of the exercise, right?). When a sender creates a message using SecretInk, the recipient is alerted via either email or SMS that he/she has a message waiting, which means, the communication doesn’t contain the actual message content. Once read, the email self destructs.

email that self destructsFor now, the system works online or with Gmail and other webmail services like Hotmail, Yahoo!, & any other email clients. PowerInbox supports mobile clients too. You can send self-destructing SMS to any phone number (but first check if SecretInk provides the service in that particular country).

This utility also allows other interactive email content from social networks. Incidentally, SecretInk is one of the first email applications the company has funded itself.

SecretInk sends all messages over HTTPS so your message text never touches the network unencrypted. Since it uses end-to-end encryption, messages will never be readable by your work, ISP or third party mail hosts. Once a message is opened it is permanently deleted from its database. No copy is retained on the server of SecretInk, which means your message will be gone forever.

Whats New On The Net, has time & again, profiled similar “safe” electronic communication methods that keep your emails safe from prying eyes. One of them was Perzo.

PowerInbox CEO Matt Thazhmon has even said on record that if they were ever contacted by the US National Security Agency, they would prefer shutting down the service rather than sharing user information.
